Loop the Lake

This year we are holding our first ever sponsored walk to raise funds for Windsor Foodshare.

Join us on Saturday 27 April 2024 as we ‘loop the lake’ at Virginia Water to raise funds and supplies for Windsor Foodshare.

Last year we fed over 10 thousand people so as you an imagine this takes quite a bit of money to buy food to give to the local families in need.

We would love to have as many people as possible signing up to help us raise funds. So why not get a group of friends together and do the walk together.

It’s a fairly gentle 4.5 mile walk around Virginia Water, so you could get your children involved too.

Or how about getting your school or business to get a team going?

We will meet at the Pavilion entrance to Virginia Water Lake, adjacent to the main car park, promptly at 9 am for the start of the walk. There is a charge for parking at Virginia Water, so why not travel together as a team? The car park gets busy so we have a relatively early start time.

The circular route of Virginia Water Lake – approximately 4.5 miles for the fun walk. Please feel free to loop the lake twice if you are up for a bigger challenge!

There is no race entrance fee, but you are encouraged to raise funds to support our charity and perhaps to self-fund with a minimum donation of £20 to get your fundraising started.

You can raise funds by either signing up to setting up a JustGiving event page here or downloading a sponsorship form here.

You will be required to register at the start of the walk.

You can download a registration form here or fill out the electronic form at the bottom of this page.

When you arrive at Virginia Water, please look out for our gazebo and sign in with us.

In case of any problems or further questions, please email manager@windsorfoodshare

The walk will cover a 4.5-mile circuit (or two!) of the stunning Virginia Water Lake and we are grateful to Windsor Great Park for allowing us to use this facility. The route is signposted, and volunteers will guide you along the way.

There are no steep climbs, but some areas are undulating and some of the paths may be uneven and slippery in wet weather.

Please keep to the paths.

Dogs are welcome on leads.

Please bring water to keep hydrated and any snacks but these can also be purchased at the Pavilion where toilets are also available. Kindly take home all your belongings on the day and do not leave any litter in the park
